There are a lot of things I miss out on when I work from home, like smelling the seemingly noxious gas odor that is currently creeping through New York.

Even though officials still have no idea what the source for the smell is, Mayor Bloomberg assures that we are not supposed to worry about it. The air quality is not dangerous.

Then how does he explain why, once I read about it, I instantly began to feel nauseas, short of breath and dizzy?

Possible asphyxiation aside, this is more exciting than the time the City smelled like maple syrup. However, there will probably not be any random candy store in midtown jumping up and down, claiming their candy making factory is responsible for the odor.
