Staten Island, like the good Manhattan copycat it is, reported a lingering gas smell.
The only difference between these reports and the one from Monday is the smell was localized at Curtis High School in St. George.
We think it is pretty obvious what that odor was and are offended that a journalist would think this was relevant news. We were even hesitant to talk about it here because it is a waste of our precious blog space.
Maybe it is important to write about so New York can prepare itself for what lay ahead. Everyone is now going to call the fire department every time they think they might smell something. It could be their own feet or their neighbors hairspray; somehow, they are going to convince themselves that it smells like gas.
This will probably be the most absurd hysteria the east coast has experienced yet.
