Governor Spitzer’s campaign spent $1.5 million on his inaugural celebration that was held in and around the state Capitol at the beginning of this month.
He spent $420,000 for production and technical costs, $165,000 for food and drink, $155,000 for travel and transportation, and $125,000 for other expenses. $595,000 was doled out for the inaugural stage, the use of the Empire State Plaza concourse, insurance and office space.
Here are the expenses that were not accounted for: It cost $100,000 to have Ludacris perform. Additionally, he spent $30,000 on the gold carriage that carried him into the celebration. We do not even want to know how much the shirtless men he hired to stand at every exit cost.
