New York’s Catholic Archbishop, Edward Cardinal Egan, forgot that accuracy and actual word are necessary to make a Pro-Life argument when all he did was hold up a picture of three fetuses during his sermon at St. Patrick’s.
“All I need to do for the rest of this homily is stand here and hold it up,” Egan said during the mass the day before the 34th anniversary the Roe vs. Wade decision.
Ignoring the actual gestational age of the triplets, Egan held the digitally enhanced photo of the triplets aloft at least four times as he argued that life begins at conception.
It appeared, however, that the photo was taken of the fetuses during the third trimester, a point of time at which abortion is illegal in New York except during severe medical emergencies.
