It is not a good idea to put a drug addict in charge of large sums of money that isn’t hers.
It’s one of those tough lessons that everyone learns early in life.
It seems as if the Rockefeller Foundation is a late bloomer and hadn’t yet figured this out.
The Foundation put grant administrator and coke user, Cheryl McEwan, in control of the money designated for charities. She, subsequently, embezzled $421,000 from the global philanthropy group.
In her defense, she claimed that she was beat, choked and raped her at gunpoint by her husband.
When lead prosecutor, Diana Florence, asked why she didn’t mention her husband’s abuse during her first trial, McEwan said that she had a vision of God. She referred to him as “Daddy” and said that he had inspired her to fight harder.
Unfortunately, It seems that people would’ve taken her more seriously if she didn’t bring God into it.
Currently, her husband is serving a six-year prison term for grand larceny. She faces up to 15 years.
