Britney Spears received credit for Gwyneth Paltrow’s good deed of reading to children at Saturn’s Read Across America tent at Sundance. One kid, who clearly doesn’t read metadish, foolishly mistook her for Britney Spears.
People reported:
As Paltrow was being introduced as a very special guest, one of the kids piped up: “Is it Britney Spears?” Taking the comment in stride, Paltrow laughed and said, “I’m sorry I’m not Britney Spears, but I’ll work on my dance routine.”
We are seriously worried about the intelligence of children in this country if that can’t tell celebrities apart. We have a lot of work to do. We are probably going to have to set up our own Each Celebrity Is Unique tent at next year’s Sundance.
However, in the child’s defense, we would probably be disappointed, too, if we were expecting a strip show and got a woman reading Dr Seuss to us instead.
