A health inspector gave a passing grade to a rat infested KFC/Taco Bell. The very next day, television cameras shot footage of tons of rats having a little party in the restaurant. Her job is now in danger.

If you are curious where this restaurant is so that you can avoid it, we can only tell you that it is somewhere in Greenwich Village. But, we should probably let you in on a couple of little secrets: 1. KFC/Taco Bell makes really awful food so you shouldn’t eat there anyway and 2. You will be hard-pressed to find an establishment in New York that doesn’t have cockroaches, rats, mice or all of the above. We know because one of us once worked at a beer garden, which will remain unnamed, that had a bit of a problem. Sorry, it’s just the way it is.

The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene is, also, feigning shock about there being a rat-infested restaurant in New York. They are now going to investigate the owner of the KFC/ Taco Bell’s other business and have suspended the health inspector.

The woman, who gave the restaurant its initial passing grade, found rat droppings under the register, trashcans and canned foods. Additionally, there was a hole above the heater that is conducive to rat-infestation. She gave the business 10 violation points. This score means nothing unless you know that 25 is a failing grade and 75 means the restaurant will be closed.

The next day, a different inspector found 92 violation points. Obviously, the restaurant was closed.

We would like to leave you with some food for thought about KFC. We will tell you the story that one of us heard about the fast-food restaurant when she was eight.
One day, Julie’s mom dropped her wedding ring into the sewer. She was really upset about it. A week later, she went to KFC and, when she ate her chicken, she chipped her tooth on her ring. It’s totally a true story, too.
