Mayor Bloomeberg wants us all to boycott Canal Seafood Restaurant because they’re under investigation for allegedly charging people who don’t speak Chinese more for their meals.
He said, “go patronize a different [restaurant.] Let capitalism work.”
I think I can do it, Bloomberg. Especially since I have never even been to that restaurant. I may as well act as if I am making some grand statement while I continue to not go there. In fact, I might even go so far as to boycott all Chinese food restaurants because I don’t really like Chinese food. How do you like them apples, Bloomberg?
The Human Rights Commission concluded that the restaurant was discriminating against non-Chinese-speaking people when they received complaints about the disparities between two different menus. The people who spoke Chinese were charged, on average, a dollar less for their food.
Maybe they were just a bunch of typos.
