Us Magine seems to thinkBrandon Davis may have been motivated to mock Paula Abdul’s Middle Eastern heritage because of his own Turkish origins. They believe this is just a classic case of unfounded, self-loathing.
A witness at the party told the New York Daily News at the time: “He kept on saying her last name over and over again, and then would insert his made-up version of an Arabic language.”
Well, it turns out that Davis’ last name isn’t actually Davis, it’s Zarif.
“His father is Nebil Zarif, known as ‘Bilo,’” a source tells the Daily News’ Gatecrasher. “He’s a Turkish-American wine importer.”
Brandon uses his mother Nancy’s maiden name, which is associated with his late grandfather, oil billionaire Marvin Davis. But Marvin never approved of Brandon’s parents’ marriage, says the pal.
“He basically gave Bilo money to go away,” according to the friend.
That may be pushing it a little bit, guys. How does him being Turkish relate to Paula Abdul at all?
