Last Friday, a grand jury indicted three NYPD detectives for the death of Sean Bell, who was killed the day before his wedding in November. At 7:00 this morning, they arrived at a Queens’ courthouse to surrender and be arraigned.

The jury reached its decision after months of hearing evidence and three days of deliberation. Detectives Michael Oliver, who fired 31 times, and Gerard Isnora, who fired 11 shots, were both charged with first-degree and second-degree manslaughter and one count of reckless endangerment. The third detective, Marc Cooper, who fired four shots, is charged with two counts of reckless endangerment.
The two other officers were let off without any charges.

Al Sharpton disagrees with the jury’s decision to not charge the two offices. “All five officers shot,” he said. “All officers should have been charged.”
