Loading ...Less than 24 hours after MSNBC fired Don Imus canceling the televised simulcast of his radio show, CBS has followed suit and fired Imus from his radio show.
CBS initially handed down a two week suspension to the shock jock turned sort of mainstream after outrage over his description of the Rutgers women’s basketball team as a group of “nappy-headed hos”.
“There has been much discussion of the effect language like this has on our young people, particularly young women of color trying to make their way in this society,” CBS President and Chief Executive Officer Leslie Moonves said in announcing the decision. “That consideration has weighed most heavily on our minds as we made our decision.”
