In a move that has angered some officials, the City Council has honored for a controversial 9/11 detox program that was co-founded by Tom Cruise.
The proclamation came before a Manhattan fund-raiser, hosted by Cruise, who will also be honored at the event. According to the New York Rescue Workers Detoxification website the program consists of basically sweating out the deadly toxins.
It is a precise regimen that includes exercise, sauna bathing, and vitamin, mineral and oil supplements. More than 20 years of clinical experience have established its value in treating chemical exposures.
Wait, what?! Exercise, sauna bathing and vitamin, mineral and oil supplements make people feel better? Thanks L. Ron but the guy named Butch that runs the desk at my gym told me that 10 years ago. I don’t see NYC giving him an honorary proclamation.
However, Peter Vallone Jr., the councilman from Queens is having none of it, saying, “It’s dangerous to confer legitimacy on a cult.”
