Dave Chappelle stayed on stage at the Laugh Factory in LA for a total of 6 hours and 7 minutes this past Sunday shattering the clubs longest standup record ever set earlier this month by Dane Hack Cook.
He was absolutely amazing, for six hours making people laugh,” the club’s owner, Jamie Masada, said Tuesday.
Masada said the previous record of three hours and 50 minutes was accomplished earlier this month by Dane Cook. But until then the mark had stood at two hours and 41 minutes since
Richard Pryor set it in 1980.
People started questioning Dave’s sanity when he walked away from $50 million and the third season of his television show, The Chappelle Show.
Chappelle told Esquire magazine, “The bottom line was, white people own everything, and where can a black person go and be himself or say something that’s familiar to him and not have to explain or apologize?”
Maybe white people would have owned a little less if you would have taken their $50 million dollars man!

Want a neat little picture by your comments? Get one here.First of all, love the Dane “Hack with line” Cook name variation - it fits. Most of all, I’d like to ask “what was Jamie Masada thinking?!?!??!?!” He actually allowed a man with no talent, no humor, no originality - a man that has seen his 15 minutes and needs to go “buhbye now” almost 4 hours on stage? Who was his audience that night - those transported by the “short” bus, some of Jamie’s “homesless” that he needs for his philanthropist moments during the holidays when he’s assured good press, or perhaps it was DC’s myspace fans who he has so blantantly advertised for - can anybody say free passes to The Laugh Factory courtesy of DC. Glad Chappelle beat DC’s record - Chapelle is FUNNY, Cook is not.
