Seriously, fuck the Webby Awards. Just like everything else that starts out as a cool idea turns into a way for soulless corporate fucks to find a way to make a few more bucks.

We originally went to the site to vote for one of our favorite blogs, BWE for best Celebrity/Fansite. There are five sites up for that award:

1. Best Week Ever (VH1)
2. Some lame ass Verizon/Dave Mathews site (Verizon and Dave Mathews)
3. TMZ (AOL)
4. The Pet Shop Boys (Whatever label owns the Pet Shop Boys)
   
5. Anderson Cooper’s CNN landing page (CNN)

There you have it, the five best celebrity/fansites on the web all happened to be owned by major corporations. Obviously The Webby’s have their finger on the pulse of all that is hot on the web. And by pulse I mean my cock. Which is always hot.

BWE and TMZ are the only two real sites on that list, the rest are high priced advertising landing pages paid for by corporate sponsors. Suck it Webbys.
