G TrainFor the second time in five days a track worker was killed in a terrible subway incident and another was wounded.  55-year-old Marvin Franklin and his co-worker Jeffrey Hill were hit by a G train at the Hoyt-Schermerhorn station in downtown Brooklyn yesterday just before 5 p.m.

Transit sources said the incident occurred after a supervisor ordered the men to retrieve a tool that had been left on an unprotected track.

“The operator saw them on the track and attempted to brake,” said NYC Transit President Howard Roberts Jr.  “Any death is unacceptable,” he said. “To have two people killed in the system within less than a single week is intolerable.”

Roberts promised and investigation.

The incident took place as shocked passengers looked on from an adjacent platform.
