Sopranos Final Episodes: Kennedy and Heidi

There are only three episodes left and it’s becoming more and more clear, (it’s practically being shoved down our throats) that being a boss is not as glamorous and all it’s cracked up to be. It’s a hard, lonely road where business comes before virtually everything.

As Christopher and Tony were driving back from a non-productive meeting with the Phil Leotardo, it was pretty clear that Christopher was geeked up on something. Once Tony knew for sure that Christopher was back on drugs, in Tony’s mind, it was only a matter a time before the feds pinched him, and judging from Christopher’s attitude lately, (especially in last week’s episode) flipped him.

It’s been no secret that once Tony found out Christopher was using again he was going to be pissed. On the drive back Chrissy can’t stop fiddling with the radio, his jaws are clenched and he eventually gets so distracted he swerves into the oncoming lane, clips a car and flips the SUV over the embankment.

As the scene comes up, you see Chrissy wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and is much more seriously injured than Tony. He asks Tony to get him out of there because he’ll never pass a drug test and he doesn’t want to lose his license. It seems as if Tony may help him until he looks in the back of the SUV and sees the baby seat completely destroyed by a tree limb that came through the back window.

Chrissy starts coughing up blood, Tony starts to dial 911 then stops, puts his hand over Christopher’s nose and mouth and watches as Christopher drowns on his own blood.

Tony admits, first in a dream and then in real life to Dr. Melfi that it is a relief to have Christopher gone and that sitting around and putting on the sad face makes him feel like a hypocrite. He calls an old friend and goes to Vegas to “get away from everyone”. He ends up seeing an old goomad of Christopher’s and breaking the news to her that he’d dead.

The next scene is Tony fucking her and sharing a joint with her when they’re finished. She brings up peyote and Tony admits that’s the one drug he’s always wanted to try. Tony and Sonya wander the casino on tripping on peyote and Tony stops at the roulette table to try his luck. He wins three times in a row at one point smiling and saying, “he’s gone.” Realizing his bad luck streak has ended Tony falls the floor and starts laughing his ass off.

The episode ends Tony and Sonya sitting in the desert, still tripping. Tony is watching the sunrise (sunset?) and sees a bright flash. He stands up and starts shouting, “I get it now! I get it.”

Also in this episode: Paulie’s aunt/mother dies suddenly of a stroke. Paulie and his mother had become close again after he found out he had cancer, and no friends. Of course her wake was on the exact same day and time as Christopher’s and when Tony shows up to pay his respect after leaving Christopher’s wake Paulie immediately tells him how pissed off he is at being disrespected because no one showed up to his mother’s wake because they were all at Christopher’s.

Also also in this episode: A.J. may be spiraling down hill again. After seeming to rebound with drinking, drugs and strippers on the last episode he starts question his choices with the new crew of guys he’s hanging with after they jump an African kid and beat the shit out of him for running into a car door that was opened suddenly in front of him.
