Lost: Through the Looking GlassOur resident Lostologist, Charlie, picked this week to close on a house and is now packing and moving so his much anticipated recap of last night’s series finale thriller will be forthcoming. I tried to convince him this was more important but to no avail.

A couple of weeks ago in his recap of the episode The Man Behind the Curtain our man Chibbs said it could have appropriately been titled, “WHAT THE FUCK?” I think he spoke too soon for that title.

I can assure you that any die hard Lost fans who may have been on the bubble about the show were dramatically pulled back into the plotline last night. “Through the Looking Glass” wasn’t just a great Lost episode, it was one of the best episodes of television I’ve seen in a long time.

Some highlights:

-Charlie’s much anticipated death is no longer anticipated. And that dude went out with some serious class.
-Hurley crashing through the forest in the VW van to save the day, I was practically standing up cheering as they killed those fuckers.
-Are they off the island? Were the rescued? I have an opinion about that but it may be far fetched. Much of the “flashback” part of the show ended up being flash forwards of scenes after they are rescued. My opinion? They weren’t rescued at all, the Jack off the island storyline was one of Desmond’s flashes. I of course have no evidence of this, just a gut feeling.
-Walt made an appearance.

There’s plenty more to talk about but I’ll save the rest for Charlie’s way more thorough recap. Feel free to discuss in the comments until then.

I will do this though, Sawyerism of the day: “That’s for taking the boy off the boat,” right before he shoots Tom.

  2. I relished staying home tonight to finally watch the finale online. I’ve been avoiding any news about it all week long so as not to spoil anything. Who the hell is in that coffin?! And how long until next season starts?
