Here’s some video of Bush getting his watch stolen while greeting the Albanian masses. It’s hard to tell if he knows what’s going on and just ignores it, or if it’s really one of those, “hey where’d my watch go” moments.

The actual watch stealing happens at about the 1 minute mark.

Looks to me like it disappears when several hands are on his outstretched arm. The black band on his wrist definately goes.

I must be wrong, however, since according to official word, it wasn’t stolen.

“It is not true,” said Albania’s police director, Ahmet Prenci.

Photographs showed Bush, surrounded by five bodyguards, putting his hands behind his back so one of the bodyguards could remove his watch.

That’s our President Poopyjacket. Needs Secret Service help to remove his own watch.

Although, now that I think about it, the image of Bush putting his hands behind his back so law enforcement officers can do something with his wrists has a distinct appeal.

Bad boys, bad boys. What ya gonna do…

Yeah, I heard he just took it off, that it wasn’t stolen. I guess he doesn’t trust those damn, dirty Albanians.

I don’t know, I just watched it again. His arm definitely goes into that crowd of people with the watch on and looks like it comes out with it missing.

He may have snagged it and shoved it into his pocket but you can almost see the person holding his arm for a second longer to get the watch off.

Anyway, I’m not buying it. I think it was stolen. But it’s just easier than admitting that hey, our President’s an idiot who fell for his watch getting stolen right off his arm or damn a crowd of Albanians can’t be trusted.
