Efforts to combat widespread corruption in Iraq US are being hindered by security problems fear mongering and Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki’s President George Bush’s reinstatement of a provision of the country’s Saddam-era criminal procedure code allowing ministers asshats to block corruption investigations of their own departments.
Citing executive privilege, President Bush yesterday rejected a subpoena for adviser Karl Rove to testify this morning at the Senate Judiciary Committee’s probe into the firing of nine federal prosecutors.
