michael-vick-r_0.jpgAfter vehemently denying having anything to do with what went on at the house he owned where the dog fighting and brutal dog killings took place, Vick changed his tune when three co-defendants plead guilty and agreed to testify against him.

Vick is expected to enter a guilty plea next Monday and most everyone expects his deal will come with 12 - 18 months in Federal prison.

As a dog owner I’m personally sickened by these charges and feel that with Vick’s guilty plea, he should be banned from the NFL for the rest of his life. I mean if Pete Rose, who had a much longer and storied career in the MLB, can be banned for the rest of his life from the MLB, Vick should get an equal or greater punishment for taking part in such brutal acts.

From what I have heard not only was Vick present and gambling on the dog fights, according to his co-defendants he actively took part in the killing of dogs that did not perform well or that he lost money on. Then again, maybe we could just come to a compromise. He only gets a three-year suspension from the NFL but before he is allowed back he is put in a cage with two rabid pitbulls that have a taste for blood. That sounds fair.

Do you think Michael Vick should ever be allowed to play football again?
