Supposedly this is a recently released direct quote from Ronald Reagan about George W. Bush entered into his diary. The entry is dated May 17, 1986.
‘A moment I’ve been dreading. George brought his ne’re-do-well son around this morning and asked me to find the kid a job. Not the political one who lives in Florida. The one who hangs around here all the time looking shiftless. This so-called kid is already almost 40 and has never had a real job. Maybe I’ll call Kinsley over at The New Republic and see if they’ll hire him as a contributing editor or something. That looks like easy work.’
What’s that thing Don King always says? Oh yeah. Only in America baby, only in America. We’ve been taking it up the ass for the last seven years from a ne’re-do-well loser who had to get elected president by the Jesus freaks to finally get a job.

Not that I’ve made any study of Reagan’s writings, but somehow that just doesn’t sound at all like him. And, yeah, it only takes about 5 seconds of looking at the article you link to to confirm that it’s (as you note) not really Reagan.
Interesting how quickly this is spreading thru the next as an actual quote, tho.

Yeah, someone sent me the link to the actual article after I posted the quote so I linked it to be fair and show that it wasn’t real.

OL Dubya says so many stupid and illiterate things on his own, it really isn’t necessary to make things up to illustrate what a pea brain he is. What really amazes me is how many people attribute greatness to that affable old Coot Reagan. By the time he left office Nancy had to remind him what he had for breakfast.
