14 years ago Tupac was shot up with 5 bullets at Quad Studios in New York City, and now, the L.A. Times is reporting that Diddy had a lot to do with it. Two associates of Diddy, the Times reports, James ”Jimmy Henchman” Rosemond and promoter James Sabatino, planned to attack Shakur for not showing Diddy the love. The report indicates that Shakur was offered $7000 to come to the studio and law down a vocal track for a song, and when he got there he was ambushed. The Times said they received their information from FBI records. Diddy denies the claims.
If we’re still talking about and reporting on the Biggy/Tupac beef, what does that say about the current era of hip-hop? Because there isn’t as much violence, conspiracy, and general thuggery we have to go back 14 years to dig up dirt to keep people interested? There is still plenty of violence in hip-hop, but I guess the new guys just aren’t as compelling stories. Maybe this will have some sort of effect on the new generation. Maybe they will step up their game and start murdering people in the streets to get some attention.

Oh No Diddy Didn’t!
