I have to admit I don’t watch Letterman on a regular basis anymore but I have to say that when I see clips like this it reminds me of the comedy gold this man used to turn out on a nightly basis.

David Letterman Signs a 4-Year Extension with CBS

Thursday, September 7, 2006 – 10:01 am

Letterman, 59, is close to signing a contract that will keep him at CBS through 2010. Specifics of the deal haven’t been released yet but speculation is that the deal will keep Letterman in his current salary range which is $31.5 million a year.
