As summer winds down towards its inevitable end and labor day approaches there doesn’t seem to be a better time to celebrate the wonderful Japanese cultural phenomenon known as gravure idol.
It’s always been part of Metadish’s mission to not only shine a bright, white beacon of truth on the American people, but also to give voice to the traditions of other cultures. Especially those traditions and cultures that involve Japanese chicks in bikinis.
And before you think this is just pure superficial misogyny you’re wrong. It’s educational too.
Gravure idols are Japanese models who often pose in bikinis and other provocative clothing for photo spreads in magazines aimed largely at men. They are known for their large breasts and suggestive poses. However, they do not pose nude or perform sexually explicit acts in their work. The term comes from photogravure, a type of printing process.

So far I’ve had at least four different technicians out, three replacement DVR’s and countless hours on the phone with Time Warner’s “help” desk. I pay a lot for premium monthly cable and I would say about half the time this is the quality of TV I get. It doesn’t seem to matter whether it’s a show I DVR or if it’s live.
I’m seriously considering switching to DirectTV but I prefer DVR to TiVO, but I honestly don’t know how much more of this I can stand. Plus I have internet through Time Warner so changing that would be a pain too.
